Privacy notice

How we handle your details.

This notice covers asklesley.com and its waiting list. Aldous Works Limited provides Ask Lesley and decides how these details are used. Data we process for customers inside Ask Lesley is covered by our agreement with each customer instead.

What we collect

When you join the waiting list we keep:

  • your name, work email address and agency name
  • your role, your agency’s size, finance set-up, and email and chat tools
  • which jobs you’d hand Lesley first, if you tell us
  • when you joined, when you last updated your entry and how many times you sent it

To stop the form being abused, our server counts recent sign-ups from each internet address for up to an hour. That count is held in memory only. We don’t store your address with your entry.

The site doesn’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

We use your details to contact you about Ask Lesley’s founding places, to arrange a walkthrough if you’d like one, and to understand which agencies are interested. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to businesses that ask to hear from us. We don’t sell your details or add you to anyone else’s mailing list.

Who else handles it

  • Hetzner hosts our servers and database in the EU.
  • Cloudflare carries traffic to the site and protects it from attacks, so it sees your internet address.

Both act on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We delete an entry 12 months after you last sent it, or sooner if you ask. If you become a customer, we move the details we need into our customer records. Deleted entries can remain in our encrypted backups until those are replaced. We only restore a backup to recover from a failure.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or object to us using them. To do that, email [email protected], or write to us at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
